Long Term Math Substitute

Weston County School District #1, in Newcastle, has an opening for a Long-Term Substitute Secondary Math Teacher (Grades 10–12) for approximately 6 to 8 weeks, with a potential start in Quarter 2 (October 20th) of the 2025–2026 school year. The position will be open until it is filled.

Compensation: This position follows the Certified Teacher / Student Teacher (Certified Substitute) pay scale.

  • Days 1–10: $120 per day
  • Days 11–45: $180 per day
  • Days 46+: $279.73 per day

Nature and Scope of the Job:  Provide math instruction for high school students (grades 10–12) in the following subjects:

  • College Algebra
  • Trigonometry
  • Geometry
  • Math 930

 


  • Implement lesson plans with support from the lead teacher, aligned with existing curriculum.
    • Adapt instructional methods and materials to support varied student learning needs.
    • Collaborate with special education staff to meet the needs of students with IEPs.
    • Use technology effectively to support instruction and student engagement.
    • Maintain a structured, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
    • Demonstrate ethical, responsible, and professional behavior at all times.

Qualifications:

  1. Candidate must hold or be eligible for a Wyoming Teaching Certificate or Wyoming Substitute Permit.
  2. Experience teaching or assisting in secondary math is preferred.
